For a trip, the Lodwick family always tries to get off on the right foot. This means good food in the tummy and hydration (or maybe a libation). Our first stop of the trip actually is in Sea-Tac aiport, the Centurion Lounge:
The Centurion Lounge is for American Express holders and overall a great deal, especially if you are based out of an airport lucky to have one of the lounges. The folks at the front desk are nice, the seating is unbelievably comfortable, and the restrooms are super clean (along with "nicely scented soaps" as Siena would say.
Earlier this year, they changed the format from a "Centurion Studio" (smaller format, table service) to a full-on "Centurion Lounge" (expanded selection, slightly more busy). We been fortunate to visit lounges in Seattle, Las Vegas, Miami, and Houston.
However, the best part of the lounge is the food and drink.
They have fresh salads, fresh vegetables, and fruits as well as finger sandwiches. The buffet also contains some sort of hot item. In the morning, it's mini-quiches. In the evening, it's hot soups. Even better are their desserts. During our stay today, they had absolutely the best homemade carrot cake! Yum!
Saving the best for last. Yes, their bar is better than any airport restaurant or lounge that we've been to. Hand crafted cocktails, super high-end ingredients. Friendly staff. And it's free!
